The ISTC's mission is: "to increase international understanding through the promotion of travel and exchange opportunities among students, young people and the academic community."
The International Student Travel Confederation (ISTC) is a not-for-profit organization, founded in 1949 by the travel departments of a group of national student unions, to explore the needs of the growing numbers of student and youth travelers.
Thanks to the ISTC, students, young people and teaching professionals have access to a global network of leading travel specialists, offering low priced flights, travel tickets, insurance, accommodation, work and study abroad programs as well as special deals on entertainment, sightseeing and shopping in countries all over the world.
Member organizations of the ISTC meet the changing needs of students and youth travelers by developing and negotiating new and reduced-cost products and services.
The ISTC network includes over 5000 offices in 106 countries worldwide, which collectively serve the needs of over 10 million student and youth travelers each year.
Students today have more choice then ever before with regard to destination and overseas experiences. Whether
traveling to Europe, Australia or South America to study, learn a new language, work or simply for the thrill of adventure,
traveling provides a first-hand insight into countries and cultures as well as a new perspective on life. The ISTC was founded to help students
fulfill all of these travel ambitions.
